So how can we improve the look of your home in 2 days, improve it enough to have buyers waiting at your door ? Both the inside and the outside of your home are important but remember that the outside of your home creates the buyer's first impression but it's the inside which has to really impress any potential buyer. Your home must be perfect-shining, sparkling clean, neat, spacious, perfect. You may be selling your home through an auction but be ready for viewings. Clutter is one of the biggest reasons why homes don't sell. In order for your home to be seen in its best light you must create space-you must de-clutter. Get rid of lots of ornaments, of family photos on display, of clothes draped everywhere,of children's toys. If you need to when you have viewings send the children or the family pets to a friends or neighbors. Do anything you can to ensure that your potential buyer is focussed purely on your home. * Light colored walls with bright lights make your rooms look larger. If you have any darkly painted walls, you may want to consider painting with a white or off-white paint. Increase the number of watts of the light bulbs in your home. All walls should be painted neutral. Do not, repeat do not paint using very bright or garish colors. If you do take your home off the market- you're reducing the chances of selling. If your carpets are worn, dirty or stained you should, whenever possible, replace them. If you can't afford to or if they're not too bad then clean them very, very thoroughly. Clean and polish all windows and mirrors so they gleam! Make your kitchen appliances sparkle. Clean your oven and stove thoroughly as well as the drip pans under each burner. Get rid of all dirt and all grease. Polish the outside of your stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and any other kitchen appliances until you can see your face in them! Your home must be the cleanest its ever been. Clean all walls, clean fingerprints off all your walls especially around doorknobs and light switches. Clean your blins, remove every last particle of dust and grime! Clean,de-clutter.These are the key words. Remove as much as possible from your kitchen cabinets and from all your cabinets.Clean your kitchen countertops and leave them as empty as possible. Now de-clutter again. Make sure clothes hang neatly in your closets, do not overcrowd and when possible move some items of clothing from the shelves, off the floor and into storage. Clean and de-clutter your attic space, your garage, and your basement. Your home must appear perfect to potential buyers. So now make sure that there are no leaks, squeaks, or rattles in your home. If you've had any water damage repair and make sure all signs of this are fixed. If any nuts, bolts or screws are loose tighten them up, fix them! Potential buyers must not think that there are any repairs to do in their new home! Your FSBO home has to smell as clean and fesh as possible. Use aromatherapy oils to get rid of or disguise any odors which your home may have. This is especially important if you have very young children or pets. Get a friend or neighbor to tell you if there's any smells in the house, then get rid of them!
